Celebrating Community, Culture, and Opportunity in Huron

The City of Huron recently celebrated its 75th Anniversary with a day centered around community pride. The celebration honored Huron native and acclaimed fashion designer WILLY CHAVARRIA whose roots in the community continue to inspire his work and commitment to giving back.

Youth from across the community, including members from our Harris Farms Club, came together for a soccer tournament. Club members received new adidas gear including cleats, jerseys, socks, and shin guards, generously provided through the partnership led by Willy Chavarria.

The day continued at the Huron Community Center, where the Taco Bell Foundation presented Boys & Girls Clubs of Fresno County with a transformational $100,000 grant. This investment will support education, teen programming, and career readiness initiatives across eight Club sites, helping expand opportunities for youth throughout the region and in rural communities where access to programs and resources can often be limited.

Club members also had the opportunity to meet Willy Chavarria personally and receive autographs.

Speaking to the influence The City of Huron has had on his life and what this day means to him, Willy Chavarria said “Huron exists in the most fundamental parts of my being. I am forever grateful to my family and the place that gave me so much heart and inspiration."

When young people can see someone who comes from a community like theirs succeed on a global stage, it reshapes what they believe is possible for themselves. It builds confidence, sparks ambition, and reinforces that their dreams are not distant or out of reach, but something they can actively pursue with support and encouragement. We want every Club member to feel seen, supported, and empowered to dream big, explore their passions, and build a future they are proud of.

We are grateful to the City of Huron, Willy Chavarria, adidas, and the Taco Bell Foundation.
