Youth of the Year

Youth of the Year honors and celebrates the nation’s most inspiring teens. Since 1947 this program has been Boys & Girls Club’s most anticipated recognition program for teens. It highlights member’s extraordinary achievements and selects one teen to become a model ambassador for the organization.

No two people are the same, but we have one thing in common- we are all human. We deserve equality and care.

Back 2 School Means
Back to Back Giving

This back to school season was like no other. Our members, like many students around the world, went back to school for the first time in over a year. Did you know 1 in 3 families cannot afford new back to school supplies and backpacks every year? It’s no wonder why six different community partners stepped up to meet the needs of our students!

NBA Star & BGC Alumn Gives Back

From humble beginnings to NBA Star. Jalen Green, former BGC member and recent pick for NBA’s Houston Rockets, renovated his childhood basketball court—The Cage-- in Koligian Park. Current BGC members, staff, and friends and family of Jalen watched him cut the red ribbon with Mayor Jerry Dyer at the rededication ceremony.

“He knows where he came from. These are his roots—right here at The Cage… I believe he is going to be the top pick in the NBA, “said Mayor Jerry Dyer.

Grand Slam with Granville

What is better than a Grizzlies game with free food, friends, and merchandise? 120 Boys & Girls Clubs members earning those things through a summer reading program! “It was a little taste of normal,” said Director of Operations, Richard Saldivar, “We haven’t done anything like that in so long because of the pandemic. In fact, some of these kids have never been to a ball game before. We still implemented our regular safety precautions but it was fun to see so many kids together with their friends.”
