Our Story

For 75 years, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fresno County has been serving youth and their families throughout Fresno County.

Founded in early 1949 the Boys’ Club of Fresno opened its doors at 1219 Tulare Street in a small surplus building. That small space served the needs of young boys for over 10 years until a new facility was dedicated at 930 Tulare Street. Year after year, because of generous donors and community members, more Clubs were established.

It hasn’t always been easy. Each year has brought its own challenges and opportunities, but our committed board of directors, and caring staff are relentless in providing safe places for youth to learn and grow.

To us, a Safe Place doesn’t just mean a building— it’s a community of people that demonstrate our core values; RESPECT, INTEGRITY, PASSION, FUN, and COMMITMENT.
Over 4,000 children and teens call their Club a second home. Our blue doors remain open to serve communities beyond the City of Fresno, reaching from Orange Cove to Huron, and Firebaugh to Reedley.
