Requirements: The following information must accompany your application. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

  • Essay: 600 words or less describing your personal goals and direction, and how your involvement with Boys & Girls Clubs has impacted your life

  • Proof of School Enrollment: College/School Acceptance Letter(s), Letter of Intent/Registration, or Confirmation of Enrollment

  • Current High School Transcript: minimum 2.5 GPA overall

  • Two letters of reference: one from a Boys & Girls Clubs staff member and one from a community leader or school official

  • Copy of social security card or DACA Real ID card may be required at a later date


More about the Scholarship:

The Ken and Muriel Quenzer Scholarship is awarded annually to graduating high school seniors who plan to continue their education at a four year college or university, a community college, vocational or trade/technical school. The purpose of the scholarship is to award money to deserving students who might not be able to attend college because of financial constraints. Recipients must be a member in good standing with Boys & Girls Clubs of Fresno County, have a letter of school acceptance or proof of regsitration, and intend to enroll as a full-time student (12 units or more at a community college, university, vocational or trade/technical school) to be eligible.

$10,000 in scholarships will be awarded in 2026, with at least one scholarship totaling $3,000. Every applicant in 2026 will receive a $100 Visa gift card and will be entered into a raffle for a new PS5, XBox, or laptop. 

To be eligible for the gift card and raffle, the application must be fully completed and submitted on time.

Applicants must be Boys & Girls Clubs member in good standing, not over 19 on August 1, 2026, and intending to enroll as a full-time student in the fall of 2026.


The Scholarship Committee will review all completed applications. A personal interview may be requested for final candidates.

Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the academic institution to offset the cost of
tuition, books, room and board and/or school supplies.
