March Madness at Zimmerman Club

The pressure was on as our Zimmerman teens battled Planet Fitness Staff Members in a basketball tournament on March 18th. Sanger Teen Summit

Last month 17 members from our Sanger Club participated in Innovating Sanger—a gang prevention summit funded by Measure S. Members heard an inspiring story by “Willie,” who left his gang to pursue a degree at Harvard University. They also participated in two educational workshops and enjoyed delicious pizza for lunch! History of the Harvest Festival Gala

In 2014, Ralph & Lisa Hackett were approached by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fresno County to form a steering committee to create an annual fund-raising event. The committee was led by Sandra Dee Chaney of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fresno County. Along with local business owners Booth Ranches, Brandt Farms and Mulholland Citrus we created an annual harvest festival gala event. Since 2014 this event has raised over $600,000.00 for Boys & Girls Club’s and is still going.

In fact, some of these kids have never been to a ball game before. We still implemented our regular safety precautions but it was fun to see so many kids together with their friends.”

On August 10, 2021, Jacklyn was recognized as the first Quenzer Scholarship winner. In addition to the scholarship award she received a new laptop, and William Jessup University gear. Jacklyn received a full-ride to William Jessup University starting in the fall of 2022. Scholarship opportunities, like these, inspire teens to continue their education.

From humble beginnings to NBA Star. Jalen Green, former BGC member and recent pick for NBA’s Houston Rockets, renovated his childhood basketball court—The Cage-- in Koligian Park. Current BGC members, staff, and friends and family of Jalen watched him cut the red ribbon with Mayor Jerry Dyer at the rededication ceremony.
