Jalen Green Visits The Club
It’s a true gift when alumni give back to the Club, speak to our current Club members, and show their appreciation for what the Club has done for them. In August NBA Player and former Club Member Jalen Green paid a visit to the West Fresno Club. He donated backpacks, school supplies, Adidas shoes, and Hydroflasks. Over 200 families enjoyed dinner and heard a special message.
“Giving back to the West Fresno community means a lot to me.” said Jalen Green, “It’s a part of my childhood. I grew up here.”
Jalen Green is currently an NBA shooting guard for the Phoenix Suns. He spent his childhood playing basketball at the Club. This is not the first time Green has donated gifts to the West Fresno Club. In 2020 at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, he gave every family a thanksgiving turkey, and later that year he visited the Club and gave every member brand new shoes. Since then, Green has been present in the Fresno community in multiple ways. We are grateful for his generosity to the Club and for his family’s passion to give our Club members great memories.
When alumni show up, give back, and encourage current Club members, it demonstrates the true impact we have on an individual. Most importantly, it shows kids and teens that they can achieve their dreams.
If you are an alumnus of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fresno County, we’d like to connect. Let us know what you’re up to!
