Jalen Green Gives Back to West Fresno Club

A message from NBA Star & Club Alumn, Jalen Green

It’s a true gift when alumni give back to the Club. On November 20th, NBA Player and former Club Member, Jalen Green donated a thanksgiving dinner to the West Fresno Club. His mother and sister were in attendance and helped coordinate the dinner on his behalf. 148 people enjoyed dinner and dessert from Mega Texas, they heard a special message from Jalen Green via video, and received a $50  gift card to Walmart.

“Giving back to the West Fresno community means a lot to me.” said Jalen Green, “It’s a part of my childhood. I grew up here.”

Jalen Green is currently an NBA shooting guard for the Houston Rockets. He spent his childhood at the Club playing basketball. This is not the first time Green has donated gifts to the West Fresno Club. In 2020, at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, he gave every family a thanksgiving turkey and later that year he visited the Club and gave every member brand new shoes. Since then, Green has been present in the Fresno community in multiple ways. We are grateful for his generosity to the Club and for his family’s passion to give our Club members great memories.

When alumni show up, give back, and encourage current Club members, it demonstrates the true impact we have on an individual, and most importantly, it shows kids and teens that they can achieve their dreams.

If you are an alumni of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fresno County, we’d like to connect. Let us know what you’re up to!
