The Boys & Girls Clubs of Fresno County offer these programs to help develop fitness, a positive use of leisure time, reduction of stress, appreciation for the environment, and social skills.

 
 

Game Room Activities

Every Club offers game room time for members each day.  The recreational activities encourage members to socialize, share, and develop their social skills.  Members have opportunities to participate in daily game room tournaments, challenges, and icebreakers offered at the Club.

Triple Play

Triple Play is a comprehensive health and wellness initiative, strives to improve the overall health of members, ages 6-18, by increasing their daily physical activity, teaching them good nutrition and helping them develop healthy relationships.  The program has three components, Health Habits (Mind), Daily Challenges (Body), Leadership Club (Soul).

Triple Play: Daily Challenges focuses on the “Body” component and promotes physical activity through fun daily fitness routines.  Club youth of every age and fitness level have the chance to participate in a variety of games.

Triple Play: Leadership Club focuses on the “Soul” component and promotes service, leadership, health and wellness, and community partnerships.  Triple Play Leadership Clubs consist of both male and female members ages 10 and older, and allow youth to interact positively with peers.

 

Junior Giants Baseball League

Most Clubs offer a Junior Giants Baseball League each summer.  The league is for members ages 6-18 and broken up by age groups for each team.  Members receive a baseball cap, team shirt, and school supplies as they participate in the league as well as participate in the daily educational programs that are required as being part of the sports league.  Some members have had the opportunity to attend a San Francisco Giants Baseball Game as part of this partnership with the MLB San Francisco Giants.

WANNA Play?

WANNA Play? encourages youth ages 6-12 to increase their overall fitness and health through physical activity and nutrition education, while learning the fundamental skills of baseball and softball.  The program focuses on agility, balance and coordination.  This program features a variety of fun and engaging activities and games to help Club members improve their fitness; increase awareness of good nutrition and hydration; and learn basic baseball and softball skills and knowledge.
